Gothic Kids: Movie of the Month February, 2014

Took us a while to decide on this one.  Not because we couldn't think of one, just that I wasn't sure about what ages this movie will truly be suited for.  As I have read the entire series', loved it btw, but we have not seen the movie, yet.  We are going to go and see it on Valentine's Day.  But, since I am indeed taking Ness, who I remind you is eight, and her best-friend who is also eight, I say go for it!!  One thing I can say for sure, as long as they stick to the book, there should be no sex!!  Its a story of the Moroi, the Strigoi and the Dhampir, of friendship, loyalty and alliances.  There will be fighting and bloodshed, which I do believe is my lil spawn is looking forward to, and so am I.  So, as long as it turns out like the book & series', which is a YA and a great read, though not within the little ones' reading range as of yet.  Something you will be able to enjoy together.  Remember, I haven't seen it yet, we will be experiencing this one together.

****Ok, we went to see it and loved it!!  But, it may not be appropriate for smaller kids, depending on how much of a prude you may be.  So, if your child is more on the mature side, this is defintely a movie you both will enjoy.  If your still not so sure, read the book, just the first one, the story pretty much stays true to the page, with a few details, and people taken out.  No sex, but some heavy petting.  Not much foul language, besides the reference to blood-whore.  Again, if you read the first book, you will definitely be prepared.****
